What does the visit include?
After the first stage involving the check described above is completed, an investigation is then carried out on a case-by-case basis.
The investigation and examination time can last at least one hour and more than one appointment may be needed.
Specialized services include extended high frequency audiogram (8-16 KHz), otoacoustic emissions (testing of the outer hair cells located in the inner ear-cochlea), brainstem evoked potentials as well as specialized tests if needed. Also, special questionnaires are used to assess symptoms.
What should the person who visits the clinic expect?
Detailed instructions will be given after diagnosis or possible diagnosis.
Tinnitus, hyperacusis etc. are symptoms and their pathology differs. The causes are many and varied, but audiological testing is important at any stage.
There are cases where recovery can take weeks or even several months.
The main goal is for the person to become as functional as possible in their daily life.
Balance
This assessment includes special tests related to the investigation of balance additional to clinical examination.
What does the visit include?
What should a patient expect after the visit:
After the diagnosis or possible diagnosis, detailed instructions will be provided to the individual experiencing vertigo.
Vertigo is a symptom, and its pathology varies. It is important to clarify the cause of vertigo (where possible). There are cases where recovery may last for days or even months, depending on the specific case.
There are also conditions where episodes with vertigo exacerbations and remissions occur on a chronic basis.
The goal is to enhance the functionality of the individual experiencing this symptom in patients’ daily life.
